Stacy, bold company out of De Pijp

Height is the first thing, and there is no getting around it: at 176 centimetres Stacy does not enter a bar unnoticed, and in heels the effect is considerable. She is slim, with long near black brown hair and dark eyes, and an edgy metallic nightlife glamour that belongs to the late part of an evening rather than the early part. The second thing is the timing. She is 22 and funny in the way people are when they have spent real hours watching stand-up comedy and working out why a line lands, and Violetta is the one she drags to shows. Bold, sultry, spontaneous, all of it accurate, and underneath it a person who notices much more than she says.

Street photography is the serious hobby, a camera carried through the city on long aimless walks, hunting for the half second when a stranger does something interesting. Tiffany shoots too, and the two of them disagree pleasantly about almost everything technical. Snowboarding is the winter version of the same appetite for speed and a little risk, pursued every season she can afford the time for.

Her district is De Pijp, which keeps her close to the bars she likes and a short run from the centre. She says in English the thing that everybody else at the table is politely avoiding. Stacy is the booking for a night with no fixed end time, and she is entirely capable of talking you into one more place when you had firmly decided otherwise. What she is not is chaotic. Underneath the spontaneity there is somebody who turns up when she says she will, dressed for wherever you said you were going.

Nine o'clock is early for her, and she will say so. Stacy belongs to the later half of an evening, and a booking that begins at ten usually gets a better version of the night than one that starts sharp at seven.

Dinner somewhere with noise, then bars, and she can talk you into a further one long after you had firmly decided otherwise. Her timing comes from hours of watching stand-up and taking apart exactly why a line works, and she will say the part everybody else is carefully not saying. What she is not is unreliable. Underneath all of it is somebody who turns up at the time agreed, dressed for wherever you told us the night was going.
